Merit-Based Scholarships
All students are eligible to receive merit-based scholarships, and every student who completes an application for admission is automatically considered for merit scholarship funding. No separate application is required, and you will be notified of your merit scholarship at the time of admission.

How to Apply
File the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):
- Complete the FAFSA online at by November 15. You and your parent must have an FSA ID to electronically sign the FAFSA.
- Loyola University's FAFSA Code Number is 002078.
Application Deadline & Notification Dates
The final deadline to apply for need-based financial aid is November 15, but we encourage you to apply as soon as you can. If you submit your FAFSA and are accepted to the University, you will receive your financial aid package within a week of your acceptance.
Merit scholarship notification will be sent with the admission decision, and no separate application is required for merit awards. You will automatically be considered for every award we offer, ranging from $25,000-$35,000 each year.
Fall Early Decision I and Early Action Applicants

Typically, the FAFSA becomes available on October 1. However, the U.S. Department of Education has announced that the 2025-26 FAFSA won't be available until December 1, 2024. This delay means that students applying for Early Decision I or Early Action admission will not have access to the FAFSA in time to receive their official need-based financial aid package alongside their admission and merit scholarship decisions.
To address this challenge, Loyola has introduced the Loyola Early Aid Form (LEAF) for the exclusive use of Early Decision I and Early Action applicants. The LEAF will be available in October, allowing families to receive a need-based financial aid package within 24 hours of their admission decision provided it is submitted by December 1. This initial LEAF package will inform you of the financial support Loyola will provide and an estimate of what support would come from the federal government.
If the information you submit on the LEAF is consistent with the FAFSA you submit later, the amount of institutional grant aid in your LEAF package is guaranteed. While we can estimate the federal aid portion of your LEAF package, families must complete the FAFSA when it becomes available in December to receive a final aid package. If there are differences in what is submitted on the LEAF and FAFSA, your final award my differ from the initial LEAF package.

Fall Early Decision II and Regular Decision Applicants
The 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available in December 2024. Early Decision II and Regular Decision applicants and families should plan to complete and submit the FAFSA as soon as it鈥檚 available to ensure you鈥檙e considered for the maximum amount of aid that you鈥檙e eligible for.
